| CMAI has set up a Testing Laboratory in a centrally situated industrial area in Lower Parel. The laboratory is equipped with the latest computer controlled testing equipment and is manned by trained technical staff to carry out comprehensive test on physical and chemical characteristics of yarn, fabric and garments. This facility is available to both members and nonmembers. |

| The laboratory has achieved a vital need of instilling quality consciousness amongst manufactures of textiles and garments. The results of these tests have found acceptance in the quality-conscious,exacting standards of the western world enabling our products to compete sucecessfully in the global markets. |

| Training in Testing Procedures: The laboratory undertakes courses in training students of various polytechnic institutions on the procedures to be adopted for carrying out physical and chemical tests on yarn, fabrics and garments.This has encouraged institutions to include testing procedures in the curriculum of students of these institutes. |

| In future it has also planned to open such labs in other Centres of Indias. |
