GST ON JOB WORK REDUCED FROM 18 TO 5 PER CENT

As you are aware, the Association had taken up the matter with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Textiles urging them to Consider our request to Reduce GST on Job Work from 18 to 5 per cent.
We are glad to inform you that the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, vide Notification No 20/2017-Central Tax Rate dated August 22, 2017 have Reduced the Rate of GST on Job Work in relation to Textiles and Textile Products falling Under Chapter 50 to 63 from 18 to 5 per cent with effect from the Date of Issue of Notification i.e. August 22, 2017.

FINAL REMINDER FOR RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP WITH THE ASSOCIATION

We would like to inform you that the Association has sent a FINAL REMINDER on August 10, 2017 to those Members who have still not Renewed their Membership with the Association for the Year 2017-18, requesting them to Renew their Membership immediately to avoid Uninterrupted Services.
The Association has also Informed the Members that with effect from July 01, 2017 Service Tax @15 per cent has been Replaced with GST @18 per cent. Please note that unless the Membership of the Association is Renewed by the Member, the Association will be compelled to STOP sending all information pertaining to the Trade as well as APPAREL with effect from October 01, 2017.

Members can also avail of the Benefit of paying the Membership Subscription in advance for Three or Five Years. The Details are given in the Reminder Letter.

 

MINIMUM WAGES & SPECIAL ALLOWANCE PAYABLE TO THE WORKMEN IN THE GARMENT INDUSTRY  (01.07.2017 TO 31.12.2017)

We have informed all Members in Maharashtra that the Minimum Wages Payable to the Workmen in the Readymade Garment Industry in Maharashtra remain Unchanged and the same for the Period July 01, 2017 till July 31, 2017 are as under :

In addition to the above,  special allowance payable for the period  01.07.2017 To 31.12.2017 is r 2900  And is also payable for all classes and zones.

 

REPRESENTATIONS/CIRCULARS:

The Association sent a Comprehensive Report on September 01, 2017 to the Ministry of Textiles, on the Requirement of Mutilated/Worn/Used Clothes in Quantity Terms and the Present Policy on Imported of Mutilated/Worn/Used Clothing to India.

Cir No 65th NGF/16/17 sent by e-mail to all Show Directory Advertisers at the 65th National Garment Fair held in July 2017, informing that the Association will be issuing GST Tax Invoice instead of Service Tax Invoice to enable them to take full set off of 18 per cent GST. The Association also provided the Statement of Additional Advertising  Charges to be paid by Show Directory Advertisers to the Association along with GST Number to enable the Association issue the GST Tax Invoice.

Circular No (O-10/18/17 sent to all Members by e-mail informing that ’Texprocess’ the Leading International Trade for Processing of Textiles and Flexible Materials, is Launching a ‘Texprocess Pavilion’ at Techtextil India in Mumbai to be held from September 13-15, 2017 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai along with an email received from Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd with the Programme of the Texprocess Workshop.
